Sample Itinerary

Day 1: PREPARATION

Get picked up by your guide and take part in an informational safety briefing. Each participant will work with their own team of 5-6 dogs who you will get to know and play with before setting out. The goal of the first day is to familiarize yourself with the dogs as well as the equipment you will be working with. First you will go east through Aventdalen and then head north into Eskerdalen and Sassendalen where you will set up camp.

Day 2: JOURNEY THROUGH FULMARDALEN

Eat a hearty breakfast before starting your journey through Fulmardalen, which is dotted with glaciers and snow-covered hills that will be exhilarating to sled over with your four-legged friends! By this point you will be much more comfortable with all of the equipment, and by mid-afternoon your guide will lead you to your campsite.

Day 3-4: JOURNEY ALONG THE EAST COAST

Spend some time along the coast, admiring the natural beauty and local wildlife. There is a very good chance you will catch a sighting of a polar bear or a few ring seals on your trip! Continue on to your last campsite, past the glorious mountains and glaciers that line the way.

Day 5: FAREWELL

You will reach the kennel by the early evening, where you will be welcomed by the excited howls of dogs. Say goodbye to your canine companions and truly appreciate the strength, as well as affection, they displayed throughout your journey.
