Sample Itinerary
Day 1: PREPARATION
Packing all the necessary equipment while listening to an informational briefing about how to use ski, cooking, and tent equipment during the excursion.
Ride from Longyearbyen to Tempelfjorden on a snowmobile where you will begin your skiing safari. Start off heading east to the Von Post Glacier, which will offer incredible sight-seeing, as well as a place to camp for the evening.
Day 2: JOURNEY TO HAYES GLACIER
Continue your expedition up the Von Post Glacier where you will be surrounded by remarkable views of the surrounding landscape. On your way to the next glacier and campsite, Hayes Glacier, you'll ski past other massive glaciers as well as exposed rocky mountain ridges known as nunataks. Keep an eye out for Panoramaberget and Skinnluva emerging from the ice.
Day 3: JOURNEY TO KONIGSBERG GLACIER
Ski down Hayes Glacier and make your final campsite at Konigsberg Glacier. Along the way, you might find luck in seeing some polar bears!
Day 4: FAREWELL
Your final day will be spent skiing along the coast until you reach George Bjonnes's old trappers cabin where you will be met with snowmobiles to transport you back to Longyearbyen.
