For a four day extreme adventure in the Arctic, this ski safari will take you from Spitsbergen’s western to eastern coasts. Cross over giant glaciers and smooth, snowy land until you reach your destination point. Each evening you will be lucky enough to camp out and relax in the natural wonderland that is Spitsbergen. Never have you seen skies this clear!

  • The average temperature is about 23-40 degrees farenheit

  • Your travel schedule might change if the weather requires it

  • Participants must be physically capable of skiing 6-9 miles a day while carrying a pulka behind them and have experience with winter camping

  • Minimum age is 18 years old

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: PREPARATION

Packing all the necessary equipment while listening to an informational briefing about how to use ski, cooking, and tent equipment during the excursion. 

Ride from Longyearbyen to Tempelfjorden on a snowmobile where you will begin your skiing safari. Start off heading east to the Von Post Glacier, which will offer incredible sight-seeing, as well as a place to camp for the evening.

Day 2: JOURNEY TO HAYES GLACIER

Continue your expedition up the Von Post Glacier where you will be surrounded by remarkable views of the surrounding landscape. On your way to the next glacier and campsite, Hayes Glacier, you'll ski past other massive glaciers as well as exposed rocky mountain ridges known as nunataks. Keep an eye out for Panoramaberget and Skinnluva emerging from the ice. 

Day 3: JOURNEY TO KONIGSBERG GLACIER

Ski down Hayes Glacier and make your final campsite at Konigsberg Glacier. Along the way, you might find luck in seeing some polar bears!

Day 4: FAREWELL

Your final day will be spent skiing along the coast until you reach George Bjonnes's old trappers cabin where you will be met with snowmobiles to transport you back to Longyearbyen.
